Nourish Compton: Food Distribution Program

Bringing Healthy, Reliable Food Support to Compton Families

Nourish Compton is MelB Alliance’s community food security initiative designed to ensure families and seniors have consistent access to nutritious groceries. Through monthly or bi-monthly food distributions, holiday meal support, and grocery gift cards, we help reduce hunger, strengthen household stability, and promote student wellbeing.

Our Impact

In our second Thanksgiving distribution, we served:

30 families (150 individuals in one day)

With monthly or bi-monthly distributions, we anticipate reaching:

360–720 family visits per year
1,700–3,500 individual touchpoints annually

These efforts directly improve access to fresh, healthy foods and reduce financial stress for families.

Why This Matters

Food insecurity remains a major issue, affecting children’s health, school attendance, and overall success. By placing food support where families already are—their school—Nourish Compton removes barriers and ensures every child has the nourishment needed to thrive.
