Thrive in Healthcare Workforce Program

The Thrive in Healthcare Workforce Program is a career and education pipeline that equips residents with the skills, exposure, and support needed to secure meaningful jobs in the healthcare industry. From front desk and medical admin roles to nursing pathways, lab support, and community health positions, Thrive in Healthcare helps participants discover their options, get training-ready, and take their next step toward a stable, high-growth career.

Why Healthcare?

Healthcare is one of the fastest-growing industries in our region, offering careers at every education level from entry-level positions to advanced clinical roles. Yet many people in our community don’t know what jobs exist, how to qualify, or where to start.

Thrive in Healthcare was created to:

  • Increase access to living-wage healthcare careers for Black and Brown communities.

  • Demystify the healthcare world by breaking down the roles, requirements, and pathways.

  • Bridge the gap between local talent and hospitals, clinics, schools, and training programs.

  • Support long-term economic stability for individuals and families.

When community members thrive in healthcare careers, our entire city benefits financially, emotionally, and physically.

Who the Program Serves

Thrive in Healthcare is designed for:

  • Young adults (ages 16–24) seeking a first, stable career or want to enter healthcare.

  • Adults making a career change who are interested in healthcare but unsure where to start.

  • Unemployed or underemployed residents seeking pathways to better income and growth.

We prioritize residents from Compton and the surrounding South LA communities who are underrepresented in healthcare careers.
