Confident Communicators Students Entering Grades 4–5 Sankofa Family Literacy Series A Family Reading Project by Books Open New Worlds The Confident Communicators cohort helps students strengthen comprehension, vocabulary, critical thinking, communication, and storytelling skills while developing a lifelong appreciation for reading. Students will engage in discussions, reflection activities, creative writing, and interactive literacy experiences that encourage them to think deeply about stories and confidently express their ideas. Topics Include: • Critical thinking and comprehension • Vocabulary and word choice • Story analysis • Discussion and communication skills • Reflection and journaling • Creative storytelling • Building confidence through literacy Families will receive literacy resources and reading challenges that encourage meaningful conversations and reading experiences at home. Program Includes: • Weekly virtual literacy sessions • Family reading challenges • Literacy resources and activities • Community Day participation • Book selection opportunities • Family literacy support
